Under the facilitated of the Mekong River Commission, on 26th to 28th August 2014, Mr. Sin Viseth, Director Department of Commercial Exploitation and Conservation of Tonle Sap Authority, participated in the Training Workshop on Climate Change Adaptation, Impact and Vulnerability Assessment in Bangkok, Thailand. The workshop was aimed to made participants understand to (i) the acknowledgment and evaluation of the impacts of climate change in Mekong region; (ii) communal vulnerability and other vital parts caused additionally by environmental and climate change issues; (iii) preparation of strategic plan of climate change and adaptation; and (iv) evaluation of impacts and vulnerabilities caused by climate change.
Participants expected that (i) the ability to evaluate climate change impacts; (ii) the knowledge and skill in evaluating vulnerability of communities and other vital parts caused additionally by environmental and climate change issues; and (iii) the improvement of the capacity to prepare strategic plan of climate change and adaptation.
