On the morning of Friday, March 28, 2025, His Excellency Sar Kimsan, Secretary-General of the Tonle Sap Authority and Chairman of the Tonle Sap Authority’s Task Force for Battambang Province, along with the leadership and technical officers of the Tonle Sap Authority, participated in a meeting to discuss preliminary findings from field inspections, verification, data updating, and land parcel documentation in villages, communes, and districts connected to the Tonle Sap Lake area in Battambang Province. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Kit Chankhrisna, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, and Deputy Head of the Task Force for Verification, Updating, and Compilation of Land Data in the Tonle Sap Lake area of Battambang Province.
The meeting reached a consensus with the verification and data entry teams to ensure accuracy in compiling foundational information. This will support decision-making by leadership in conservation planning and national development strategies, with a focus on improving livelihoods while reducing dependency on natural resources in the Tonle Sap region. The goal is to ensure the ecological sustainability of the Tonle Sap Lake system for future generations.
