On August 24-25, 2015 in Sihanouk Province, H.E Meas Oeun, Adviser to Tonle Sap Authority, Mr. Yan Samrith, Director of the Department of Legislation and Extension, and Mr. Pheam Sea, Deputy Director of the Department Exploitation Control and Conservation, attended the National Workshop on Climate Change and Water Governance in Cambodia, organized by the Cambodian Development and Research Institute (CDRI) under the project Climate Change and Water Governance in Cambodia with the support from the International Development Research Center (IDRC) of Canada under the auspices of H.E Ponh Sachak, Technical General Director of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology. Participants attended were officials from the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Tonle Sap Authority, Institute of Technology of Cambodia, M-POWER program, national and sub-national level, NGOs and water consumption community representatives, in total of 53 (20 from national level and 33 from sub-national level). The main purposes of the seminar were to present study results and compile final comments on the study on water resource and climate change in Pursat River, Chi Nit River and Chrey Bak River basin and to be as a platform to strengthening capacity and sharing knowledge for local officials to adapt to climate change.
