From July 17 to 19, 2015, H.E Khov Meas, Deputy Secretary General of Tonle Sap Authority, led officials of Tonle Sap Authority to conduct a research and collect basic data on solid waste generation in floating Village, Koh Chi Vaing Commune, Ek Phnom District, Battambang Province. The team met with communal chiefs, communal councils, village chiefs and the people who were living on floating villages, to present the purpose of the research study by focusing on the environmental impacts through pollution by a variety of factors, including the solid waste generated every day by the people who were living on floating Villages around Tonle Sap Lake, and this study also learnt about types of solid waste, methods of keeping waste, dumping waste and awareness about health and hygiene, etc. .
