The Participation in the Inter-Ministerial Meeting on National Water Resources Planning

In the morning of June 25, 2015 at the auditorium of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Mr. Yann Samrith, Director of the Department of Legislation and Extension of Tonle Sap Authority , representative of Inter-Ministerial Working Group 6 (WG6) of the Water Resources Management Sector Development Program (WRMSDP) under the assistant frameworks of ADB Grant, TA 7610-CAM, attended the Meeting on National Water Resources Planning under the auspices of H.E Veng Sakhon, Secretary of State, Program Director and Chairman of WG6. The meeting aimed (i) to present and to seek agreement on the draft work plan for the preparation of the National Water Resources Plan, (ii) to present and to seek comments on proposed National Water Resources Policy objectives, (iii) to present and to seek support on the guidelines for mainstreaming IWRM in Cambodia’s report, and (iv) to present and seek support on institutional arrangements for managing water resources in Cambodia’s report. The meeting discussed, commented and agreed on the proposals to improve the document and supported the working process on management and development of water resources with sustainability. The meeting agreed to include relevant ministries and institutions into the technical advisor structure and members that have to prepare, including Tonle Sap Authority, Cambodian National Mekong Committee, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Industry and Handicrafts and other ministries.​
