Based on the Coordinated of CNMC, on 27-28 May 2015 Mr. Sin Viseth Director Department of Commercial Exploration and Co0nvervation of Tonle Sap Authority to attended Regional Workshop on IWRMP stakeholder assessment for communication work hold in Ho Chi Minh City. There are 33 participants from Focal points of the four National Mekong Committees, Project team members, Representatives of key stakeholders, if feasible (i.e. RBCs, local authorities, research institutes, farmers/fishery associations, NGOs, etc), ICCS communication team, M-IWRMP team and ICCS’ stakeholder Assessment consultant.
The workshop has the following objectives:
-To ensure that the communication work is linked to the objectives and outcomes of the five projects.
-To introduce the new Communication Officer for the M-IWRNO transboundary and communication outreach projects;
-To undergo a deeper stakeholder assessment of each project through group discussions and based on the projects’ work plans and progress to date, and finalize this stage of the communication outreach component;
The outcomes of workshop are:
-The progress of each project is understood and shared with the ICCS and the consultant;
-Groups/individuals of stakeholders are identified for each project;
-Concerns, issues and expectations of the stakeholders are spelled out based on current progress of the projects; Priority target groups/individuals for communication work are identified;
-Initial plans for two-way communication activities/products are identified for each project;
-A plan for further communication consultation opportunities is discussed.
