On 29 May 2015 at the auditorium of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (Deum Tnaot- Kbal Tnal Building), H.E Hell Tony, Secretary General of Tonle Sap Authority, High Representative of Excellecny Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology and Chairman of Tonle Sap Authority, led the Second Stakeholders Consultative Workshop to Review on the First Draft of Tonle Sap Authority Strategic Plan, which was held and organized by technical official of Tonle Sap Authority under financial support from the Water Resources Management Sector Development Program (WRMSDP) and joint financial support from ADB, CDTA, and 7610-CAM. The workshop was participated by representatives of ministries, institutions, NGOs, development partners, and relevant departments from 8 provinces around the Tonle Sap Lake, 10th Working Group (WG10) and project consultants, in total of 56 people.
In the spirit of responsibility and continuous sustainable core work, Tonle Sap Authority has been further made a research study, compiled data and information on the potential of economy, social and natural resources and to track anarchical destruction of natural resources, biodiversity, flooded forest and environment caused by human and natural factors that create risk to the lake's welfare. Based on the visions and strategies on improving work efficiency, Tonle Sap Authority was preparing its strategic plan to be a compass for work implementation in accordance with roles, core duties and responsibilities effectively. This 2nd consultative workshop was held to review, discuss, and provide additional ideas to edit the documents on Tonle Sap Authority Strategic Plan (1st draft) to be better with deep, meaningful content and to be implemented with the participation of relevant stakeholders. The summary of the discussion on the content of the strategic plan focuses on (1) vision and mission of Tonle Sap Authority in strategic planning level, (2) strategic goals, (3) prioritized initiatives in work implementation, (4) framework of monitoring indicators and evaluation on the strategic plan, and (5) the implementation of the strategic plan.
