Training Course on the General Basic of Research Methodology
In the morning of May 18, 2015 at the auditorium of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (Deum Tnoat Building-Kbal Tnal), the Training Workshop on the General Basic of Research Methodology was held under the auspices of H.E Hell Tony, Secretary General of Tony Sap Authority, High Representative of Excellency Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology and Chairman of Tonle Sap Authority with the participation from technical officials of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Tonle Sap Authority and Cambodian National Mekong Committee in total of 40 people.
Training was held for two days and to promote the knowledge and strengthen the capacity of technical officials in researching and collecting data related to socio-economy, environment, and natural resource management as well as to share working experiences in research and initiatives that are necessary for specific research, which has been being encountered in present time and in the future.
Excellency took this opportunity to inform the participants that this training initiative was a part of the implementation of the Annual Action Plan of the General Secretariat of Tonle Sap Authority (2015-2017) in accordance to the roles and responsibilities of Tonle Sap Authority. In order to solicit effective data and information, he also provided concepts on research methodology as the foundation for researchers, such as (1) What should researchers do to get high quality data and information?; (2) What kind of forms should researchers organize in order to get high quality result?; (3) How should researchers collect data?; and (4) How should researchers manage and analyze data to be effective?
