First Sub-National Stakeholders Consultative Workshop on the Formulation of the Tonle Sap Authority Strategic Plan

On 08 May 2015, H.E Hell Tonly, Secretary General of Tonle Sap Authority, High Representative of Excellency Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology and Chairman of Tonle Sap Authority, led the First Sub-National Stakeholders Consultative Workshop on the Formulation of the Tonle Sap Authority Strategic Plan, which was held at the auditorium of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology with technical and financial support from the Water Resources Management Sector Development Program (WRMSDP- ADB Loan 2673-CAM and TA 7610-CAM) with the participation from representatives of ministries, member institutions, NGOs, development partners, and relevant  departments from 8 provinces around the Tonle Sap Lake, 10th  Working Group (WG10) and project consultant, in total of 56 people.
This first sub-national stakeholders consultative workshop would solicit concept, and extensive and in-depth experiences from the participants to formulate "Tonle Sap Authority Strategic Plan for 2015-2019", which is a new achievement in contribution to management, conservation and development of natural resources in the areas around the Tonle Sap Lake and related areas effectively and sustainably. The consultative workshop would focus on the key points: (1) to discuss and determine the current issues and trends for the Tonle Sap region, (2) to discuss and determine the needs and opportunity for management, conservation and development of Tonle Sap Lake region, (3) to discuss and identify the key elements in the strategic plan (vision, mission, identified principles and pillars, and foundations) and (4) to discuss and determine the layout plan of the strategic plan for Tonle Sap Authority.
