Activities of the Research Study on Fish Resources and Fish Habitats

​On 13rd to 14th January 2015, the Technical Working Group of Tonle Sap Authority led by Mr. Sin Viseth, Director Department of Exploitation Control and Conservation, conducted research study on fish resources and fish habitats in the areas of Beoung Tonle Chmar, Peam Steung Stoung and Tonlesap lake in Kampong Thom Province and the areas of Koh Ka ek, Kampong Luong and Peam Steung Pursat in Pursat Province. In this research study, the team studied various fish habitats along the river bank, in confluence area, conservation area, mangrove forest, prairie, and lakes. The team studied a number of fishing tools which are used in the above areas, such as fishing net, bamboo cage, dropping bamboo cage, and fish traps.​
