The Participation in the Second National Consultation Meeting on Learning and Sharing Knowledge on the 1995 Agreement and Procedures of the Mekong River Commission (MRC)

​On 23rd to 24th December 2014 at Somar Tevy Hotel in Siem Reap Province, Mrs. Tes Sodavy, Deputy Director of the Department of Administration, Planning and Cooperation of Tonle Sap Authority, attended the Second National Consultation Meeting on Learning and Sharing Knowledge on the 1995 Agreement and Procedures of the Mekong River Commission (MRC), which was organized by Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) and presided over by H.E Te Navuth, Secretary General of CNMC, and Representative of H.E Lim Kean Hor, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology and Chairman of CNMC,  with participations from the officials from ministries and institutions, in total of 35 participants. The importance of this consultation meeting is to strengthen the capacity of the officials from the ministries and institutions to better understand the exact content of the 1995 Mekong Agreement and the role of the procedures of MRC for sustainable development of the Mekong River Basin. The meeting thoroughly discussed and exchanged the knowledge on the understanding of the content, requirements and effectiveness of the implementation of the 1995 Mekong Agreement and the 5 procedures of MRC that plays important roles in the contribution to effective sustainable development and equality, and to help meet the requirement of economic, environmental and social development for the member countries.[unofficial Translation]
