The Research Study on the Positive and Negative Aspects of Two Fishery Conservation Zones

From 20th to 24th October  2014, a technical working group of the Tonlesap Authority, led by Mr. Peam Phea, Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Exploitation and Conservation, made a research study on the positive and negative aspects of two fishery conservation zones (1) Lot No. 6 (3.474 hectares) located in the Kha Ek Village, Reng Til Commune, Kandeang District, Pursat Province, with 9 clusters of demarcating pillars and (2) Roneat conservation area (5600 ha) located in Ronea Village, Mea Tek Commune, Bakan District, Pursat Province, with 10 clusters of demarcating pillars. This research study was to understand the geography, history, and fishery management by discussing with the fishing communities elders and village chiefs.
