From 1st to 3rd October 2014 at Phnom Penh Hotel, Mrs. Tes Sodavy, Deputy Director of the Department of Administration, Planning and Cooperation, attended as an observer in the 40th meeting of the Mekong River Commission (MRC) Joint Committee and the informal meeting with development partners of the MRC, presided over by H.E Te Navuth, General Secretary of Cambodia National Mekong Committee on behalf of HE Lim Kean Hor, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology and chairman of Cambodia National Mekong Committee. Both meetings were participated by the delegation of the member countries as follows: Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam as well as representatives from dialogue partner countries (China and Myanmar), national and international organizations, and development partners, a total of 68 participants. The meetings discussed, modified and advised the proposed project and monitored and evaluated the projects for decentralization and the MRC's core functions. The meeting decided to rotate the term of the chairman of the Joint Committee of the MRC for 2014-2015 and agreed upon mechanisms, coordination and modification of the proposed budget for supporting the work of the MRC secretariat.
