His Excellency Hell Tony, Deputy Director-General of the Tonle Sap Authority, Meets with Development Partner Asian Development Bank (ADB) to Discuss Collaboration.
On the afternoon of Thursday, March 6, 2025, His Excellency Hell Tony, Deputy Director-General of the Tonle Sap Authority, representing His Excellency Thor Chetha, Senior Minister and Chairman of the Tonle Sap Authority, along with His Excellency Sar Kimsan, Secretary-General of the Tonle Sap Authority, led a technical team from the Tonle Sap Authority to meet and discuss with Dr. Robert Rout and Mr. Say Nal, experts from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), at the conference hall of the Tonle Sap Authority.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss collaboration between the Tonle Sap Authority and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The meeting focused on the Tonle Sap Authority's vision in developing a master plan, including concerns about the Tonle Sap Lake, the significance of the lake, water flows from the 11 tributaries and the Mekong River connected to the Tonle Sap Lake, and the preparation of a plan to manage the Tonle Sap Lake system in accordance with the Royal Government's policies. The discussion also emphasized development in Zone 1 and Zone 2, considering the areas surrounding the Tonle Sap Lake, existing water systems, and newly constructed water systems to ensure sustainable water use around the lake in the future. Additionally, the meeting addressed the economic zone of the four provinces (Fourth Economic Pole) (Pursat, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, and Pailin) and land development in those areas.
