On the morning of Wednesday, February 19,2025, at the meeting hall of the General Secretariat of the Tonle Sap Authority, H.E Hell Tony, Deputy Chief of the Tonle Sap Authority, High Representative,H.E Minister Thor Chetha, President of the Tonle Sap Authority. The Tonle Sap led a meeting with relevant ministries and institutions on cases of irregularities in anarchic activities in Area 2 and Area 3,Boeung Pearang Biodiversity Conservation Area and the area around Chreav Water Treatment Plant in Sangkat Chreav, Siem Reap City, Siem Reap Province.
Please be informed that according to the letter No. 205 S.C.N. dated 6 February 2025, the meeting was organized for the purpose of discussing, advising,finding solutions and taking action in accordance with the procedures,including 1: Introducing initiatives Further research to have legal documents and sufficient evidence as a basis to provide the Anti-Corruption Unit in accordance with legal procedures 2- Discussing suggestions to take legal action against the Boeung Peanutch Ecotourism Association and individuals who have committed the offense 3- Discussing the organization of the work mechanism in the development of the tourism community operation effectively To be an example to other communities to strengthen the sustainability of the community's process,contribute to the promotion of ecotourism,protect natural resources,especially the flooded forest 4. Set time to work with the provincial working group as stated in letter 205 of the Office of the Council of the Council of Ministers and go directly to the location in the Boeung Peanutch community.
Please be informed that after reviewing and discussing,the meeting agreed to take the proposal now to discuss with the joint working group at the provincial level and the Chong Khneas fishing community and the Boeung Pearang ecotourism community to further study and understand the mechanism.
