The study activities to update demographic and socio-economic situation at Chi Kreng River Basin
On 24th October, 2018 Mr. Yan Samrith, Director Department of Legislation and Extension has led officials in the department to continue the research study to update demographic and socio-economic situation at the River Basin around Tonle Sap lake locate at Stoeung Sreng area, Kralanh district, Pouk District of Siemreap Province, and Preah Neth Preah of Banteay Meanchey Province. The study has found that the increase of population as the result of migration from other places to the slope regions, especially the increase of youth has posed future threat to the protection, management, and conservation of the natural resources in the region. This pertaining issue requires all involved stakeholders to be vigilant and attention to food security, social economic growth and reduction of poverty should be highly on top of the agenda.
