Activity of Visit Fishery Community at Battambong and Pursat province

On 23-25, March, 2016 Mr. Sin Viseth, Director of Exploitation control and Conservation Department and Deputy Director of Tonle Sap Lake of Cambodia and Songkhla Lake Basin of Thailand for communication out-reach project and teams work including national consultant and project assistant visited in Roha Soung-Sdeykrom fishery Community in Rohasoung, Sdaykrom village, Vihealoung commune, Battambang province and Srey Chek fishery community in Kanhchor commune, Pursat province. The activities such as meeting with community members and local authority, Visit community site, Observed conservation areas, planting floods forest and so on.
The main purpose of the activities is to improve community capacity in management and development through exchanges of key lesson learnt between the communities of the two sister lakes (TSL & SLB) for good lake governance. The specific objectives of the activities are:   
a. to identify and understand the key issues on community empowerment, fishery state and climate change occurring in the lakes;
b. to develop working papers on community empowerment, fishery issues and climate change that captures the learning process in the Tonle Sap Lake and Songkhla Lake Basin;
c. to improve community development and management through sharing key lesson learnt and community implications in the two lakes.
