H.E Professor Lim Puy to Attend the Meeting on the World River Basin Management in Mexico

H.E Professor Lim Puy, Deputy Director of Tonle Sap Authority, High Representative of Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology and Chairman of the Tonle Sap Authority, led a delegation to attend the Meeting on the World River Basin Management, which was held from 01 to 03 June 2016 in Merida City, Mexico. The meeting was attended by 42 countries.
The meeting discussed about four major agenda includes:
1. Adaptation to climate change in river basin
2. Authority, composition, role and means of the council and the commission of the river basin management
3. Sustainability of river basin management plan and funding
4. The participation of the economy and citizens

On the occasion, he showed the intertwining of water resources and water demand between Mekong River and the large rivers flowing into Tonle Sap Lake as well as the lack of water in 2015 and early 2016.
